Chargezoom Pricing: What Chargezoom Costs for QuickBooks AR and Payments
Chargezoom is one of the few accounts receivable tools that publishes a rate card, and one of the few that connects to QuickBooks Desktop. Here is what each tier actually costs, what the annual processing floors gate, why several directories still quote 9 USD a month, and how it compares with the other published prices in the category.

Chargezoom publishes a real rate card, which is rare in this category, and it has three tiers. Free costs 0 USD a month and passes through processing at 2.9% plus 30 cents on cards and 50 cents on ACH. Plus starts at 95 USD a month and starts at 150,000 USD in annual processing volume. Enterprise starts at 995 USD a month and starts at 5 million USD in annual processing. Both paid tiers replace the card markup with what Chargezoom calls 0% Markup Processing. If you have seen a different number quoted, you are not imagining it: several software directories still list Chargezoom at 9 USD a month, and that figure does not appear anywhere on the vendor's own pricing page.
That gap matters more than it looks, because the two models are not variations on a theme. A 9 USD tool is a utility you expense. A tool that starts at 95 USD and swaps your processing markup for a subscription is a payments decision your controller has to model against current card volume. This article works through the published card, what the annual processing thresholds really gate, where the stale 9 USD figure comes from, and how Chargezoom sits against the handful of accounts receivable vendors that publish anything at all.
Figures taken directly from chargezoom.com/pricing and from Chargezoom's Capterra profile. Both can change at any time, so confirm before you budget.
How much does Chargezoom cost?
Here is the card exactly as published, with the volume thresholds each paid tier states.
| Plan | Price | Starts at | Card and ACH processing | User accounts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 USD a month | No stated threshold | 2.9% + 30 cents on cards, 50 cents ACH | 5 |
| Plus | From 95 USD a month | 150,000 USD in annual processing | 0% Markup Processing | 10 |
| Enterprise | From 995 USD a month | 5 million USD in annual processing | 0% Markup Processing | Unlimited |
Read the word "from" carefully on both paid rows. Chargezoom is not saying Plus is 95 USD. It is saying 95 USD is where Plus begins, at 150,000 USD of annual processing, and the card gives no schedule for what happens above that. A company running 600,000 USD through the system a year is quoting, not buying off the page. The same applies to Enterprise, where 5 million USD is the floor rather than the ceiling.
What the annual processing thresholds actually gate
The thresholds are the pricing model, not a footnote. Chargezoom's paid tiers work by removing the markup on payment processing and charging you a subscription instead, so the arithmetic only works in your favor once card volume is large enough that the markup you stop paying exceeds the subscription you start paying.
Run it on the published numbers. At 150,000 USD of annual card volume, a 2.9% plus 30 cents blended rate is roughly 4,350 USD a year in percentage cost before per-transaction fees. Plus at 95 USD a month is 1,140 USD a year. On paper that is a clear win, provided Chargezoom's 0% markup rate really is interchange-plus-nothing on your card mix and provided your volume genuinely is cards rather than checks. If most of your receivables arrive as ACH or paper checks, which is still the norm for B2B invoices above a few thousand dollars, the processing saving largely evaporates and you are paying 95 USD a month for the software alone. Ask for the effective rate on your last three months of card volume, not the headline.
Why several directories still show 9 USD a month
This is the single most common source of a bad Chargezoom budget. Capterra's Chargezoom profile lists a starting price of "9 Flat Rate, Per Month" and states "Free trial not available" and "Free version not included." All three statements conflict with what Chargezoom publishes today, where the entry tier is a 0 USD Free plan. Other directories carry a similar 9 USD Pro figure with an older feature list attached to it.
Directory profiles are populated once and rarely revisited, which is why a pricing page and an aggregator listing drift apart over time. The rule that saves you a wasted call: if a vendor publishes its own numbers, the vendor page wins and the directory is history. The directory is only worth reading when the vendor publishes nothing, which is the situation with most of this category.
The same Capterra profile is worth reading for one thing it does report well. Chargezoom sits at about 4.6 stars there, but from roughly 16 reviews. That is a thin sample by any standard, and small samples move a lot on a handful of ratings, so treat it as directional rather than as evidence. For comparison, Invoiced by Flywire carries about 414 reviews on G2 and Billtrust about 500.
What each Chargezoom plan includes
The feature gating is where the real decision sits, and it is more aggressive than the three-row price table suggests.
| Capability | Free | Plus | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| eInvoicing, email payment links, text payment links | Yes, with co-branding | Yes, unlimited, no co-branding | Yes, unlimited, no co-branding |
| Recurring payments, subscriptions, scheduled payments | No | Yes | Yes |
| Batch processing and bulk email payment links | No | Yes | Yes |
| Customer portal, card expiry notifications, account updater | No | Yes | Yes |
| Dunning management | No | Yes | Yes |
| REST API access | No | Yes | Yes |
| ERP integrations (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics) | No | No | Yes |
| Support | Email only | Standard | Dedicated support manager |
Two lines decide most shortlists. Dunning management, the part that actually chases an overdue invoice rather than just presenting it, starts on Plus. And ERP integrations for NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Dynamics are Enterprise only, which means a Sage Intacct company is pricing the 995 USD tier from the first conversation regardless of its card volume. The Free tier is a payment acceptance layer with co-branding on your invoices, not an AR tool.
Does Chargezoom work with QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes, and this is Chargezoom's genuinely unusual strength. Its knowledge base documents a QuickBooks Desktop integration that runs through the QuickBooks Web Connector, the small Intuit utility installed on the machine that holds the company file. The default sync interval for Desktop is ten minutes, the first sync finishes within about ten minutes for most files and can take up to an hour on very large company files, and later syncs run in seconds. The web connector has to be running for anything to move, which is worth knowing before you put it on a machine somebody shuts down at night.
That puts Chargezoom in a short club. Most accounts receivable platforms publish a QuickBooks Online integration and nothing else: Quadient AR by YayPay, Chaser and Tesorio all document the Online edition only, while Versapay, Billtrust and HighRadius name no QuickBooks connector of either kind. Invoiced by Flywire, Centime and Gaviti are the other vendors publishing Desktop support. If your books are still in Desktop or Enterprise, that list is effectively your market, and it is worth reading our full comparison of accounts receivable software for QuickBooks Desktop before you shortlist on features.
One practical note for Desktop shops in particular. Payment processors settle in batches, so a day of card and ACH activity arrives as a single deposit that has to be broken back out against invoices. Chargezoom applies payments it processes directly, but anything that arrives outside it, a wire, a lockbox check, a payout from a second processor, still has to be brought in by hand. Desktop imports bank activity as a Web Connect file, so the usual workaround is to turn the payout CSV into a QBO file and import it rather than keying the lines.
Chargezoom pricing vs the other published rate cards
The honest comparison set here is small, because almost nobody in accounts receivable publishes numbers. These are the vendors that do, stated as each one publishes them.
| Vendor | Published price | Pricing basis | QuickBooks editions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chargezoom | 0 USD Free, from 95 USD Plus, from 995 USD Enterprise, per month | Banded by annual processing volume | Online and Desktop |
| Chaser | 259, 779 and 1,169 USD a month for US buyers, about 10 percent off annual | Per plan, banded by company revenue | Online only |
| Kolleno | 650 GBP to 1,245 GBP per user per month, custom above | Per user, with plan minimums, GBP only | QuickBooks named, edition not stated |
| Upflow | Plans quote only. Payments add-on 390 USD a month plus card and ACH fees | Banded by gross invoice value, unlimited users | Online only |
| BILL | 49, 65 and 89 USD per user per month | Per user | Online |
| AccountsReceivable.ai | 299, 799 and 1,899 USD a month | Flat fee, unlimited users, no cut of collections | Online, plus a Desktop aging export |
Set against that list, Chargezoom is the cheapest published way into QuickBooks payment acceptance and the only one whose price is driven by card volume rather than by seats, invoices or revenue. It is also the one whose cost is hardest to predict, because "from 95 USD" at an unspecified volume curve is not a number you can put in a budget without a quote.
What Chargezoom does not do
Chargezoom is a payments-led tool with AR features attached, and the boundary shows up in three places. It has dunning management from the Plus tier, but dunning here means email sequences and payment links rather than an escalation that changes channel: there is no outbound collection calling, and the text capability is a payment link rather than a conversation that reads a reply. It does not apply cash that arrives outside its own rails, so wires, lockbox checks and second-processor payouts still land on someone's desk. And its ERP reach is thin below Enterprise, where NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Dynamics are gated.
None of that is a flaw if what you actually want is card and ACH acceptance wired into QuickBooks with the markup removed. It is a problem if your DSO is 58 days because nobody follows up twice, which is a different job. Chasing is about escalation and reply handling, and the tools built for it, including our own collections automation software, move from email to SMS to a live call and log what the customer said back.
Who Chargezoom is right for
The fit is clear enough to state plainly. Chargezoom makes sense for a QuickBooks company, Online or Desktop, that already runs meaningful card volume, wants a customer portal and recurring billing, and would rather pay a subscription than a processing markup. Above roughly 150,000 USD a year in cards, the Plus arithmetic starts working. Below it, the Free tier is a payment link with co-branding on your invoices, and you are choosing a processor, not an AR platform.
It is the wrong tool if your receivables arrive mostly by check and ACH, if your problem is follow-up rather than acceptance, or if you need Sage Intacct or NetSuite on anything below a 995 USD tier. In those cases price the flat-fee AR platforms next to it, because a per-seat or per-processing-volume model and a flat fee diverge quickly once either your team or your card volume grows.
Frequently asked questions about Chargezoom pricing
Is Chargezoom free?
There is a Free plan at 0 USD a month, but it is limited. It covers eInvoicing and email and text payment links with Chargezoom co-branding, allows five user accounts, and charges 2.9% plus 30 cents on cards and 50 cents on ACH. Recurring payments, the customer portal, dunning management and API access all start on Plus.
How much does Chargezoom cost per month?
Free is 0 USD, Plus starts at 95 USD a month and Enterprise starts at 995 USD a month, both quoted from an annual processing floor of 150,000 USD and 5 million USD respectively. Neither paid tier publishes what happens above its floor, so the real monthly figure for a larger business comes from a quote.
Why do some sites list Chargezoom at 9 USD a month?
Because directory profiles go stale. Capterra still lists a 9 USD flat monthly starting price and states there is no free version, while Chargezoom's own pricing page publishes a 0 USD Free plan and a 95 USD entry paid tier. When a vendor publishes current numbers, use the vendor page and treat the directory figure as history.
Does Chargezoom replace my payment processor?
Not exactly. Chargezoom sits between QuickBooks and a gateway, and its paid tiers are sold on removing the markup on processing rather than on being the processor itself. The practical question to ask in the demo is what your effective rate becomes on your own card mix, because "0% markup" describes the markup, not interchange.
Is Chargezoom good for collections?
It is good at getting an invoice presented and paid by card or ACH. It is thinner on collections in the chasing sense: dunning starts on the Plus tier and runs on email and payment links, with no outbound calling and no reply handling. Teams whose real problem is nobody following up twice usually pair it with, or replace it by, a dedicated AR platform.
