The main LedgerUp alternatives for a B2B SaaS finance team are Tabs (contract-to-cash with billing included), Upflow (collections for subscription businesses), Chaser and Paidnice (reminder automation with a published US dollar price), Tesorio and Stuut (larger AI AR platforms), and AccountsReceivable.ai if what you need is every overdue invoice chased by email at a flat monthly fee. LedgerUp itself starts at 500 USD a month on a credit-based plan, and NetSuite or Sage support sits on its custom Enterprise tier. Your ledger and your billing system decide the shortlist faster than any feature list.
LedgerUp is a young company with a clear pitch. It came out of Y Combinator's Summer 2024 batch in San Francisco and sells an AI agent called Ari that lives in Slack and takes over the receivables work billing systems leave behind: reading contracts, drafting invoices, chasing customers and reconciling payments. That pitch lands with lean SaaS finance teams, which is exactly why a lot of them also look at what else is out there before they sign. This guide compares the realistic options on the things that decide a SaaS shortlist: which billing and accounting systems each one names, whether it prints a price, and who does the chasing.
Facts below come from each vendor's own website and, where noted, Vendr's published purchase data. Vendors change tiers and connectors without notice, so get anything that decides your shortlist in writing.
What LedgerUp does, and what it costs
LedgerUp describes itself as AI agents for the manual accounts receivable work that billing systems leave behind. Ari answers questions in Slack and by email, drafts collections messages, and connects to CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio), billing systems (Stripe, Chargebee), ledgers (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage) and tools such as DocuSign and Snowflake. The homepage claims an average 60% lower DSO; one case study, from a customer called Buzz, reports 75% faster collections in the first month. Both are vendor numbers from a small customer base, so ask for references at your size.
The pricing page is more useful than most in this category, because it actually prints a number:
| LedgerUp plan | Price | Ari credits | Overage | What the tier adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 500 USD a month, 14-day trial | 10,000 a month | 0.12 USD a credit | Ari in Slack and email, collections drafts, one connected billing or accounting source |
| Growth | Custom | Custom | 0.09 USD a credit | Usage-based billing, revenue recognition, one CRM integration, unlimited billing integrations |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom integrations, NetSuite and Sage support, SSO, SLA, dedicated onboarding |
Annual billing takes 15% off. Two lines in that table decide most evaluations. First, Starter connects one source, so a team that wants Stripe and QuickBooks and HubSpot talking to the agent is on a custom Growth quote from the first call. Second, NetSuite and Sage sit on Enterprise. If your books are on NetSuite, the 500 USD number does not apply to you. The page also does not say how many credits a reminder, an invoice or a reconciliation uses, which makes the overage line hard to forecast. Ask for a credit estimate based on your own monthly invoice count before you sign.
What are the best LedgerUp alternatives?
Here is the field a SaaS finance lead usually ends up comparing, sorted roughly from the lightest commitment to the heaviest.
| Tool | Built for | Systems it names | Published price | How it chases |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paidnice | Small B2B teams on Xero or QuickBooks | Xero, QuickBooks Online, Stripe; NetSuite, Dynamics and Sage on Custom | Yes. Essentials 69 USD, Pro 99 to 799 USD by invoice volume, Custom from 999 USD | Email, SMS at 0.10 USD a message, automatic late fees |
| Chaser | Small and mid-size teams that want reminder sequences | Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, Dynamics 365 BC, NetSuite | Yes. Compact 259 USD, Core 779 USD, Complete 1,169 USD a month | Email, SMS and calling options |
| AccountsReceivable.ai | Teams whose overdue invoices go quiet because nobody owns follow-up | Imports from QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite and Sage exports | Yes. From 299 USD a month, flat | Scheduled email sequence on every overdue invoice |
| LedgerUp | Lean B2B SaaS finance teams that live in Slack | Stripe, Chargebee, Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, QuickBooks, Xero; NetSuite and Sage on Enterprise | Starter 500 USD a month, rest custom | Email drafts from Ari |
| Tabs | SaaS companies that want billing, collections and revenue recognition from contracts | QuickBooks Online, Rillet; NetSuite and Sage Intacct on Scale and Enterprise | Launch 2,000 USD a month up to 5M USD revenue, rest custom | Collections agent inside a billing platform |
| Upflow | Subscription and SaaS businesses with a real AR desk | QuickBooks, Xero, Chargebee, Stripe Billing; NetSuite and Sage Intacct from Grow | No. Quote-only, banded by gross invoice value | Email included; SMS, calls and letters metered |
| Tesorio | Mid-market finance teams that want collections plus cash forecasting | NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Acumatica, Salesforce, Workday | No. Vendr median about 17,644 USD a year from 60 purchases | Email workflows for your collectors |
| Stuut | Mid-market and enterprise companies on large ERPs | SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics | No. Priced per agent | Email, SMS and voice |
Which LedgerUp alternative fits a B2B SaaS company?
Start with where your invoices are born. A SaaS company that bills from Stripe or Chargebee and keeps the books in QuickBooks or Xero has a different problem from one that bills from contracts in NetSuite.
If billing itself is the mess, meaning invoices are built by hand from contracts and usage, Tabs is the closest like-for-like alternative. It reads contracts, generates invoices, runs collections and handles ASC 606 revenue recognition in one platform. The trade is price: its entry plan is 2,000 USD a month, four times LedgerUp Starter, and NetSuite needs the Scale tier. Tabs raised a 55 million USD Series B led by Lightspeed in September 2025, so it is better funded than most of this list.
If billing works and the gap is collections, you do not need a contract-to-cash platform at all. Upflow is built for subscription businesses and is strong on Chargebee and Stripe Billing, but it is quote-only and its NetSuite connector starts on the Grow tier. Our Upflow pricing breakdown walks through those bands. Chaser and Paidnice both print a US dollar price and are quick to set up on Xero or QuickBooks; see the Chaser pricing and Paidnice pricing guides for what each tier really includes.
If you are bigger than LedgerUp's sweet spot, with a dedicated collections team, several entities and a large ERP, Tesorio and Stuut are the realistic step up. Neither prints a price, and our Stuut alternatives guide covers that end of the market in detail.
How does LedgerUp compare with HighRadius for subscription billing and collections?
They are not really the same size of tool. HighRadius is an enterprise order-to-cash suite with dozens of AI agents, built for large companies on SAP, Oracle, Dynamics and NetSuite, sold on custom contracts with a Vendr median near 13,000 USD a year and long implementations. It is not a subscription billing system. LedgerUp is a young, Slack-first agent for lean SaaS teams with a printed 500 USD starting price. A SaaS company under about 20 million USD in revenue will usually find HighRadius oversized, and a company with a large collections team will usually find LedgerUp too early. Our HighRadius vs BILL comparison covers how HighRadius sells to mid-market buyers.
How AccountsReceivable.ai compares with LedgerUp
We are narrower on purpose. LedgerUp wants to sit across billing, collections and revenue questions in Slack. AccountsReceivable.ai does one job: it takes the open invoices from your QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or Sage export, runs a scheduled email sequence on every overdue one from a friendly reminder to a final notice, matches the payments on your bank statement to the right invoices and predicts when each customer will pay. The price is flat, from 299 USD a month on the pricing page, with no credits to forecast and no percentage of what we collect.
That makes the choice fairly simple. If you want an agent that also answers revenue questions and drafts invoices from contracts, LedgerUp or Tabs is the closer fit. If your invoices already go out correctly and the money is late because nobody has time to chase the 40 customers past 30 days, a dedicated collections tool will move cash sooner and cost less. Our guide to dunning for B2B SaaS shows what that sequence looks like in practice.
What to check before you sign with any AR agent
- Which tier carries your ledger. LedgerUp puts NetSuite and Sage on Enterprise, Tabs on Scale, Upflow from Grow. Price the tier you will actually be on, not the entry plan.
- How usage is counted. Credits, gross invoice value, active contracts and revenue bands all scale differently. Model your next 24 months, not this month.
- Who approves the message. An agent that emails your customers needs a review step for large or sensitive accounts. Ask how drafts, approvals and stop rules work when a customer replies with a dispute.
- What happens when the invoice is paid. Reminders that keep going after the payment lands are the fastest way to annoy a good customer. Ask how quickly the paid status reaches the tool.
- Review depth. LedgerUp has around one G2 review today, so most of what you will read comes from the vendor. Reading independent SaaS reviews of each shortlisted tool, and asking for two references at your revenue size, fills that gap.
Frequently asked questions
How much does LedgerUp cost?
LedgerUp Starter costs 500 USD a month with 10,000 Ari credits, extra credits at 0.12 USD each and a 14-day trial. Growth and Enterprise are custom, with Growth overage at 0.09 USD a credit. Annual billing saves 15%. NetSuite and Sage support are on Enterprise, so teams on those ledgers should expect a custom quote.
Does LedgerUp integrate with QuickBooks and NetSuite?
LedgerUp names QuickBooks and Xero among its integrations, alongside Stripe, Chargebee, Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio. NetSuite and Sage support appear on its Enterprise plan rather than Starter or Growth, and Starter connects only one billing or accounting source. Confirm the sync direction and frequency for your ledger before you sign.
Who are LedgerUp's competitors?
For B2B SaaS receivables, LedgerUp competes with Tabs and Upflow most directly, with reminder tools such as Chaser and Paidnice at the lighter end, and with Tesorio, Stuut and HighRadius at the larger end. Which ones matter depends on whether you need billing, collections or both.
Is there a cheaper alternative to LedgerUp?
Yes, if you only need collections. Paidnice starts at 69 USD a month and Chaser at 259 USD, both with published US dollar prices. AccountsReceivable.ai starts at 299 USD a month flat for email collections and payment matching. Tabs, the closest full contract-to-cash rival, starts higher at 2,000 USD a month.
