Serrala Pricing and What Alevate AR Costs
Serrala publishes no price for Alevate AR or its SAP-embedded modules. Here is what it does publish, the five levers that move a quote, how it compares with HighRadius, Tesorio, Esker and the vendors that print prices, and seven things to get in writing.

Serrala publishes no price for Alevate AR or any other module. There is no rate card, no starting figure and no free trial; every deal is quoted per deployment, and the main cost drivers are whether you run it inside SAP or in the cloud, which modules you take, how many entities and transactions you push through it, and the implementation services on top. Directory sites show "contact vendor" because that is all anyone has. This article sets out what Serrala does publish, what moves the quote, how it compares with vendors that do print prices, and what to get in writing before you sign.
A little background explains the pricing. Serrala is a Hamburg finance-automation company founded in 1984, majority owned by the private equity firm Hg since August 2021, and it says it serves more than 2,500 customers. Its roots are in SAP: it sells AR, AP, payments and treasury software that can run embedded in SAP, in a hybrid setup, or as cloud software connected to other ERPs. In July 2024 it bought Payference, a Silicon Valley AR automation startup, and folded that product into its cloud line as Alevate AR. So "Serrala pricing" can mean an SAP-embedded enterprise license or a cloud subscription aimed at mid-sized companies, and the two are quoted very differently.
How much does Serrala cost?
Nobody outside a sales cycle can give you a dollar figure, and you should be wary of any page that does. Here is what is actually on the record.
| Item | What is published | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Alevate AR subscription | No price, no starting figure | Serrala site; the Capterra listing shows no starting price |
| SAP-embedded AR modules | No price | Serrala site |
| Free trial | None listed | Capterra; ERP Research |
| Pricing model | Quoted per deployment | ERP Research third-party profile |
| Support packages | Two packages, Assist (on-demand consulting) and Ascend (proactive guidance, training, health checks), no figures | Serrala plans and services page |
| Implementation | No figure; typically a one-off fee scoped to your project | ERP Research |
| Peer purchase benchmark | None we could find | No Vendr-style median exists for Serrala |
Instead of prices, Serrala offers ROI calculators for AR and AP and a meeting booking form. That is normal for this end of the market. HighRadius, Sidetrade, Emagia, Esker and Billtrust all work the same way.
What drives a Serrala quote?
Since the number is built around your project, it helps to know which levers move it before the first call. Five matter most.
Deployment model. Serrala sells three shapes: SAP-embedded, which runs inside your SAP system and keeps the core clean; hybrid, which pairs its cloud with SAP; and pure cloud that connects to any ERP. SAP-embedded deals tend to carry more consulting work because they touch your SAP landscape. If you are not on SAP, you are buying the cloud product, and the quote should reflect that.
Modules. The AR side alone covers cash application, credit and risk management, collections management, dispute handling, bill presentment and payment, a customer portal and e-invoicing. Most companies need two or three of those on day one. Ask for each module priced separately so you can see what the bundle is really costing you.
Entities and volume. Third-party profiles list the number of entities and transaction volume as core drivers. A single US entity with 3,000 invoices a month is a very different deal from a group with twelve legal entities and payments in eight currencies.
Integrations. Serrala names SAP first, covering every SAP version, then NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, IFS, Sage, Infor and Epicor, with Acumatica and Workday on its demo form. Connector work is often a separate line in enterprise quotes. Ask whether your exact ERP edition has a standard connector or needs project work.
Services. Implementation is quoted on top of the subscription, and the Assist and Ascend support packages are sold alongside it. Get the first-year total, not just the annual license, because services can be the biggest number in year one.
What does Alevate AR include?
Serrala describes Alevate AR as scalable accounts receivable automation for medium-sized companies and global enterprises, built from the Payference product. Its pages describe AI-driven collections prioritization, dispute management, a customer portal, credit and risk management and cash application, which it says matches payments at automation rates of up to 99 percent. Treat that as the vendor's own figure, not an audited result.
Two things are absent from its public material. There is no mention of text messages to customers, and no mention of phone calls placed by software. Collections in Serrala means prioritized worklists, emails and the portal, with your own team on the phone. That is a reasonable design for a large credit team. It is a gap if you are buying software precisely because you do not have one.
Serrala pricing compared with other AR vendors
Most enterprise AR vendors hide their prices, so the useful comparison is what each one gives you to budget with.
| Vendor | Published price | Best public benchmark | Calls customers? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Serrala (Alevate AR) | No | None | Not published |
| HighRadius | No | Vendr median near 12,973 USD a year; outcome-based option since February 2026 | Not published |
| Tesorio | No | Vendr median near 17,644 USD a year across 60 purchases | No |
| Esker | No | Subscription plus per-document charges, quoted | A call list for your own collectors |
| Emagia | No | None | Yes, through its Gia Collect agent |
| Sidetrade | No | None | Yes, through its Aimie agent |
| Chaser | Yes | US plans from 259 USD a month, banded by company revenue | Recorded reminder calls |
| AccountsReceivable.ai | Yes | 299, 799, 1,899 or 2,998 USD a month, half that billed annually | Live two-way AI calls on Growth |
The pattern is plain. Every vendor built for SAP-scale finance teams quotes privately, and the two peer medians that exist sit between roughly 13,000 and 18,000 USD a year before services. Serrala has no such benchmark, so your negotiating position comes from having a competing written quote in hand. The HighRadius pricing breakdown and the Esker pricing guide are the two closest comparisons if you are running an enterprise process.
Is Serrala worth it for a mid-market company?
It depends on what you are trying to fix. Serrala makes sense when you run SAP, operate several entities, and want AR, AP, payments and cash management from one vendor with one support contract. Its strength is breadth inside the finance function, and an SAP-embedded deployment avoids moving data out of your ERP.
It is a harder sell when the actual problem is that overdue invoices do not get chased. A company on NetSuite, QuickBooks or Xero with a two-person AR team rarely needs credit risk scoring, e-invoicing and treasury on day one. It needs every open invoice followed up on time, a text when email is ignored, a call when the text is ignored, and the cash matched when it arrives. Buying a suite to get that means paying for modules you will not switch on and waiting for an implementation before the first reminder goes out.
Cash management is the other place to be honest about scope. Serrala sells bank statement processing and cash positioning as part of its treasury line. If what you really need is your bank statements matched to the general ledger at month end, a dedicated bank reconciliation tool is a far smaller purchase than an enterprise treasury module.
What should you get in writing from Serrala?
- The first-year total. License, implementation, connector work and the support package, as one number.
- The renewal price. Ask for a cap on the increase at renewal and how many years the cap holds.
- The connector for your exact ERP edition. Standard connector or project work, and who maintains it after an ERP upgrade.
- What is priced by volume. Whether invoices, payments, entities or users push you into a higher bracket, and what happens if you grow mid-term.
- Which modules are in the price. Collections, cash application, disputes and the portal are separate capabilities; confirm each one is included.
- How customers are contacted. Email only, or also text and phone, and whose staff makes the calls.
- Time to live. The date the first automated reminder goes out, written into the statement of work.
Does Serrala offer a free trial?
No. Serrala lists no free trial for Alevate AR or its SAP products, and third-party listings confirm that. The route in is a demo and a scoped proposal. If you want to see automated chasing work on real data before committing budget, a tool with a published price and a live sample, like the receivables book at the top of this page, lets you judge the output first.
Does Serrala work without SAP?
Yes. Serrala's cloud product connects to NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, IFS, Sage, Infor and Epicor as well as SAP, and Alevate AR came from Payference, which was not an SAP product. That said, SAP is where Serrala has the deepest experience. If you run another ERP, ask for a reference customer on your system.
What is a cheaper alternative to Serrala?
For a US company whose main need is collections, tools with published prices are the cheaper path and the easier one to approve. Chaser starts at 259 USD a month for US companies. AccountsReceivable.ai costs 299 USD a month on Starter with QuickBooks or Xero, or 149 billed annually, and 799 USD a month on Growth with NetSuite and live AI phone calls, with no per-user fee and no percentage of collections. The Serrala alternatives comparison covers the trade-offs, and the Emagia competitors table sets Serrala against the other enterprise suites on ERP fit and calling.
If Serrala's breadth is what you need, negotiate with a competing quote in hand. If the job is getting overdue invoices paid, compare the accounts receivable automation pricing plans with the first-year total Serrala sends you, and run the sample book above to see the chase before you buy anything.
